FOREVER 21 #OOTD

HEY GUYS!

I purchased this really cute pastel coloured dip hem tube skirt yesterday from the Forever 21 store in Oxford Street (you can catch up on my adventure yesterday into London with my mum by adding my Snapchat: maeve.x) which I had never been to before, and I do not know why. It's great! Such a variety of pieces, loads of accessories and all at a great price.

This skirt was £6.00 which I think is a decent price as its a thick and stretchy material, so it will hopefully last throughout the summer. I love this skirt even more so because it's different to the usual 'school' tube skirts that younger girls wear a lot. I remember when these were really popular when I was in school, and I would wear them as part of my uniform but never outside of school because I just thought they looked quite childish, and...they just weren't my cup of tea. In fact, I can't remember the last time I wore a tube skirt, let alone bought one.

However, I'm happy with this purchase and can't wait to style it up a little more. I would also wear this with a crop top (after a few sessions in the gym) in the sunshine, a crop jumper, and even a baggy knitted jumper/ sweater for a slouchy, comfy look. This would also look cute on a night out with sock boots, knee high boots or heels that strap up your leg with a plain coloured top/ bodysuit. I would probably wear this skirt with a bardot black, white or grey bodysuit because I think the bardot detail adds more to the top without having actual designs on it (I hope that makes sense!).

Also, as you can see this skirt has dipped, curved hemlines along the front and back, and it curves upwards along the sides. I think this is SUPER flattering because your private areas are covered, which we all appreciate don't we? And that way your skirt isn't actually as short as you think!

Today I paired this skirt with a grey cotton round neck top from Newlook, my oversized ASOS denim jacket, white Nike Huaraches and my pastel pink River Island bag. Now looking back at the photos, I can see how many colours I've used (which is more than usual) so next time I would swap out the grey top for a white top to match my shoes or even a pink top and pink shoes to match my bag. I love matching my outfits together, especially my accessories (that's my #1 rule for my party outfits!) so I would definitely concentrate on that when I style this skirt again. However, I think the contrast of colours that I've used here still works because the pastel colours are cute and very summery so they did work well together.
